According to a new study by the National Safety Council, cell phone usage is behind 26% of all collisions.
That is hardly a surprise. However, of that amount, 21% was blamed on talking while only 5% was attributed to texting. While hands-free usage was once thought to promote safety, there appeared to be no difference in driver distraction between handheld and hands-free devices.
